“Ceri joined us on the lengthy design journey for our Hilton Garden Inn Snowdonia back in 2018. We actually started talking about interiors before we had even appointed a main contractor. But it was time well spent. The level of detail we went into at that very early stage paid dividends when it came to our (subsequently appointed) contractor pricing up joinery, lighting and the many other packages needed to build a hotel of this scale. Ceri’s input allowed us to have an accurate idea of costs before we entered into any contracts.
Ceri was always amenable to the value engineering process, and when cost saving became the biggest topic on the agenda it was particularly helpful to be able to call on his experience and expertise. He helped us to identify the key design elements that our future hotel guests would find most attractive and interesting, the features we would regret omitting. I think the biggest challenge for any designer or architect is to find that balance between functionality, affordability and aesthetics. Ceri did a great job for us. - Andy Ainscough”
